Living Farmers market Q&A: Grazin' Acres Farm in Washington County

Farmers markets are in their final weeks outdoors. Local vendors still fill streets, parks and lots with various produce, prepared foods, drinks, snacks, baked goods, cheeses, meats, and more around the Capital Region. In our series featuring farmers market vendors, this week, we talked with Meghan Mattison, partner at Grazin' Acres Farms in Washington County.

How did Grazin' Acres Farms get started?

Website: grazinacresfarm.com

Facebook: facebook.com/grazinacresfarm

Instagram: started (by) raising grass-fed beef and pasture-raised pork. In 2012, we started going to the farmers' markets to sell. It was that year we also raised our first chickens. Our product offerings have continued to grow since including grass-fed lamb and organically grown (non-certified) produce.

What's something special you want readers to know about your products?

We are a family-run farm in every sense; our four children (soon to be five) all help out. We take great pride in offering the most nutritious and delicious meats and produce that we feed to our own family.

What are the crowd favorites?

Our pork chops, ground beef, and lettuce are crowd pleasers.

How can people find you?

We will be attending both the Saratoga and Glens Falls markets this winter. During the summer, we are also at the Chestertown Farmers Market. Customers can also shop our online store for pick up on the farm by appointment.

See more in our farmers market Q&A series with Blessings Cafe, Awakened Tonics, 3 Chicks and a P, and Argyle Cheese Farmers, among others.
