Here comes the... father of the bride?

When Neil Crossley, 60, walked down the aisle, he forgot one important thing — the bride.

Just before Crossley reached the altar at Holmfirth Vineyard in Yorkshire, England, on Oct. 4, he was stopped by a member of the wedding venue staff, who led him back to where he should have been waiting as everyone laughed.

"It was just pure miscommunication between my dad and the staff," the 30-year-old bride, Amy Totty, explained to SWNS. "He thought they told him to walk when they had actually said wait for me!"

In a video capturing the hilarious slip-up, a staff member gasps as Crossley jets down the aisle by himself. The oblivious dad speed walks toward the altar as another staff member jogs after him. Crossley, along with the entire wedding party and guests, burst into laughter when he's corrected and instructed to turn back.

"It was just perfect timing as he made me, my husband and all our lovely friends and family laugh," said Amy, who wed Harry Totty, 29.

She continued to the outlet, "I especially appreciated it, as I was trying very hard not to cry and he helped me compose myself. It was a special moment none of us will forget."

When Crossley made his way down the aisle again, he made sure to have the bride by his side.

"After the initial fumble, it just felt very funny to everyone, including myself," said Crossley, who smiled and shrugged in the video when he realized his mistake.

At the reception afterward, the funny mishap even became a last-minute feature in his father-of-the-bride speech.
