Fayetteville students get to witness appeal involving homicide case

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Hundreds of local high school students get a front-row seat to a high-profile case in the Arkansas Supreme Court.

The court brought the case to Fayetteville High School as part of its Appeals on Wheels program.

The justices conducted an appeal proceeding for a homicide case with about 700 students looking on.

This is designed to give them a real-life experience of how the legal system works outside of the textbook.

"Just to have our students be able to go through that process was amazing and I love that we had that opportunity and you never know it may spawn some of our students to go into law."

After the day wrapped, the students got into small groups with the justices to ask any questions they had.
