FEMA offering rental assistance for NC renters, homeowners impacted by Helene

NORTH CAROLINA ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Renters and homeowners in North Carolina may qualify for Rental Assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Those who cannot live in their homes due to damage from Hurricane Helene can apply for funds to rent somewhere to live while waiting for their home to be repaired or while looking for a new home. The funds can also go towards rent, security deposits or utilities. Those who qualify are covered for two months. You can apply for assistance in a few different ways: Online at DisasterAssistance.gov Via the FEMA App By calling 800-621-3362 Those who use a relay service like Video Relay Service (VRS) or captioned telephone should give FEMA their number for that service.
