Field Gulls’ Mookie Alexander previews Seahawks vs. Dolphins on ‘Another Dolphins Podcast’

The Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins have a deep history against each other dating back to when Seattle was in the AFC. Seattle's first road playoff win (and only one as an AFC team) came against rookie Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins in a huge upset. Marino exacted revenge on the Seahawks the following year on his way to his only Super Bowl appearance, and his final win of his illustrious career was unfortunately the last Seahawks game at the Kingdome.

Since the Seahawks moved back to the NFC West in 2002, there have been five meetings between them and the Dolphins, and all have been close. A Michael Boulware pick-six game the Seahawks a 24-17 win in 2004, Miami defended a two-point conversion for a 21-19 win in 2008, walked off Seattle 24-21 in 2012, lost on a last-minute Doug Baldwin touchdown in 2016, and most recently fell 31-23 in 2020. There are only a handful of teams yet to beat the Seahawks at Lumen Field, and the Dolphins are one of them! Let's keep it that way and see Seattle improve to 3-0.

Yours truly was a guest on Another Dolphins Podcast with The Phinsider 's Jake Mendel to talk about Sunday's game. Topics covered include:

Observations from the first two games of the season. The identity of the Seahawks defense under Mike Macdonald. Confidence in the defensive line slowing down the Miami rushing attack. Swapping linebackers: Jerome Baker to the Seahawks, Jordyn Brooks to the Dolphins. Can Geno Smith continue to move the ball at a high level? The rushing attack without Kenneth Walker. What the Seahawks need to do to make the game more comfortable for themselves. Listen/watch below!
