Final day for Kentuckians to apply for FEMA assistance

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- The deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is quickly approaching for survivors of the May 21-27 severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, landslides, and mudslides in Kentucky.

Local Troopers honored during Kentucky State Police Annual Awards Ceremony

The deadline to apply for assistance is 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on September 23. Applicants can apply for assistance by calling FEMA at 800-621-3362, at DisasterAssistance.gov , or by downloading and using the FEMA app.

Businesses and nonprofit organization can also apply for long-term, low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration to help cover losses not fully compensated by insurance and other sources. Kentucky residents and business can apply online using the Electronic Loan Application via the Small Business Administration's website at sba.gov/disaster .
