Fire at Bay City home under investigation

BAY CITY, Mich. (WNEM) - A fire that burned a two-story home in Bay City, killing two animals is under investigation.

The Bay City Department of Public Safety said crews responded to a fire Monday, Nov. 4, around 4:45 p.m. at the 1400 block of McCormick St.

Crews found a two-story home with smoke and flames coming from the basement. The Bay City Department of Public Safety said they entered the structure, attacking the basement and first floor. The fire extended into the second story and attic. Officials said the fire was extinguished throughout the structure.

During the incident, mutual aid was provided by Bangor Township and Portsmouth Township Fire Department.

No one was injured, officials said. The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal's office.
