Fire in Queens Village leaves one dead, under investigation

QUEENS VILLAGE, Queens (PIX11) — A fatal fire that broke out at a residence in Queens Village Sunday afternoon is under investigation.

One civilian was found dead, according to the FDNY.

The fire broke out around 3:32 p.m. at a two-and-a-half-story private dwelling at 218-59 110th Ave, officials say.

The fire broke out in the attic and was under control by 4:30 p.m.

Fire marshals are investigating the cause and origin.
