Fire truck up for auction in Ashwaubenon

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – Have you ever dreamt of driving a fire truck? Well here's your chance to own one as a fire truck in Ashwaubenon has recently been put up for auction.

According to a post from the Ashwaubenon Public Safety , the retired fire engine 313, a 2000 Pierce Saber, has been put up for auction.

Officials say this particular fire truck has several appealing options including a cascade system but was retired due to its need for an engine overhaul.

The 2000 Pierce Saber Engine has a 750-gallon tank with a 1500 GPM Waterous single-stage pump with foam, an Allison Md-3060 Automatic transmission, a four-bottle cascade air system with four 4500 psi tanks, an Amps 6000W hydraulic unit generator, and a hydraulic ladder rack.

The engine is said to need a complete rehaul and the fire truck's frame has significant rust decay. The engine block and transmission are both reportedly in good condition.

The auction site says the opening bid is starting at $5,000 and the auction will be up until Friday, October 11 at 2:00 p.m.

The Vehicle does not run and the Ashwaubenon Public Safety says it will need to be towed by the buyer from its current location.
