STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A firearm was found on Wednesday at Nichols Elementary School in Stratford, according to police.

The firearm was covered both inside and out with dirt and debris, and was rusted over, police said. It appears to match the description of a firearm that went "missing" from the scene of an incident that occurred in 2017.
The gun appears to be inoperable based on its current condition.
