Five dead – including two children – in Duluth murder-suicide

A shocking sequence of events in Duluth Thursday afternoon left four people dead – two of them children – at the hands of a man who then took his own life.

Duluth PD has confirmed that bodies were found at two separate crime scenes, with officers initially finding a 47-year-old woman and a child dead from multiple gunshot wounds at a home on the 6000 block of Tacony Street in west Duluth at 2:10 p.m.

Police were able to identify a suspect and went to his home on the 4400 block of West 6th Street, where they found a 45-year-old woman and another child shot dead.

Also found at the scene was the body of the suspect, a 45-year-old man, who had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Duluth PD says that the suspect and victims were all known to each other, and there is no wider threat to the community.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims' families and loved ones involved in this tragic event," police said in a release.

"This incident remains an active and ongoing investigation."

More details will be released at a press conference on Friday.
