SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Thursday night was the 38th annual Siouxland Chamber of Commerce event, and the highlight of the evening was the keynote speaker's performance.

John Ondrasik, better known as Five for Fighting, talked about what he hopes the crowd took away from the night.

"Even though there's kind of a global tone to my speech, it's really personal," Ondrasik said. "The last song I play is a song called "what kind of world do you want," and certainly you can apply that to the larger world. If folks take anything away beyond the beautiful orchestra and Ryan's magic, hopefully that's something they can take home with them."

"I couldn't be prouder to add John Ondrasik and Five for Fighting to what I believe is a very distinguished list of keynotes over the last nearly four decades," Chamber of Commerce president Chris McGowan said.

The Sioux City Symphony Orchestra performed alongside Ondrasik. This was the first time a musical performer headlined the event as keynote speaker. Typically, politicians and even military veterans speak during the night.
