Five Local Schools Compete in Boys Regional Golf Championships

On November 4th three separate regional tournaments took place at different locations all including at least one high school from the Tallahassee area. All of the following stats were gathered from the website Iwanamaker.

FHSAA 3A Region 1

The FHSAA 3A Region 1 tournament took place at The Golf Club at Cyprus in Port Orange, FL featuring Chiles High School. The Timberwolves placed 11th as a team with a total stroke count of 326. Notable performances from the Timberwolves included Matthew Peltier (Jr.) shooting a 76, Rhys Chochran (Fr.) shooting an 81 and Alex Parker (Jr.) shooting an 82.

FHSAA 2A Region 2

The FHSAA 2A Region 1 tournament was held at The Country Club at Lake City in Lake City, FL with Lincoln High School in attendance. The Trojans placed 3rd as a team with a total stroke count of 321. Lincolns best performance was a round of 73 by Bryce Matthews who placed 3rd overall. Other Notable performances include Calvin Edwards (Sr.) with a round of 80 and William Young (Jr.) with a round of 83.

FHSAA 1A Region 1

The final tournament was the FHSAA 1A Region 1 tournament held at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club in Jacksonville, FL involving three Tallahassee schools including FSUHS, Maclay and Community Cristian (CCS).

Maclay finished in 5th as a team with a stroke total of 313 and FSUHS finished in 8th with a stroke total of 350. Although CCS did not enter enough golfers to qualify as a team, they had a notable performance from golfer Tyler Larson (Jr.) who shot a 79 placing 17th individually. Notable Performances from Maclay include Brody Mitchell (Fr.) who shot a 74 and Hayden Chaires (Jr.) who shot a 78. FSUHS's top 2 performances include Hunter Glantz (8th) with a round of 83 and Mattox Johnston (Sr.) with a round of 86.
