PALESTINE, Texas (KLTV) - A Flint man has been arrested after allegedly trying to shoot his wife and four other people.

At about 12:35 a.m. on Oct. 6, deputies were sent to a residence on Highway 79 North in Palestine in response to a "disturbance involving weapons," according to an affidavit. Dispatch said shots had been fired while they were on the phone with a caller.

When deputies arrived, they said shooting was still actively taking place, and three people were outside with weapons: Christopher Ochoa, 43, and two other men. Ochoa was in the front yard, while the other two were around the corner of the house, the document says.

Deputies ordered the men to place their guns on the ground, and all three were restrained in handcuffs. The home was cleared, the affidavit says, and three women were found to be inside. Deputies said multiple windows had been broken by gunshots, and bullets were also lodged in the walls.

The affidavit says that before the conflict, the three women and two men (Ochoa's wife and two other couples) had been together in the house. Ochoa, who was not there, allegedly began calling them, making "unclear threats." In response, the five left the main house and went to an additional house on the property, the affidavit says.

Ochoa showed up at the first residence and drove his vehicle through a gate, shooting at the residence and a vehicle parked nearby, the document claims. When he realized no one was there, he continued to the second house and allegedly started firing at it.

The other two men reportedly grabbed guns from a safe in the house in an attempt to defend themselves, the affidavit says, leading to the scene deputies witnessed.

Ochoa was arrested and booked into the Anderson County Jail for five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond has been set at $500,000.
