Florida Gators Commit to Head Coach Billy Napier Despite Lack of Winning Seasons

For the first time in my life, I'll try to write without letting my emotions take over. Billy Napier has been a terrible head coach. I'd honestly rather be stuck in a room with Mintzy, listening to him recount his weekend on loop for hours, than watch Billy Napier coach another game for the Florida Gators. Currently, he's 15-18 and still the head coach of the University of Florida. This isn't FAU or UCF; this is the University of Florida—it's unacceptable. We're headed for our third losing season in a row, and the worst part is, it shouldn't be this way. If Billy had any sense, we'd have beaten Tennessee easily. We practically went out of our way to lose that game. It's frustrating. I can't understand how this team went from playing in the SEC Championship to being bottom-feeders in the SEC so quickly. It's a disgrace.

Now, even with all that said, this team has improved a lot since week one. When Miami came to the Swamp and blew us out, I thought the program was on the verge of burning to the ground. But to Billy's credit, the team didn't quit. Honestly, the only other game where we looked truly terrible was against A&M; otherwise, we've shown up in every game. Like I said, we chose to lose to Tennessee, we could've beaten Georgia if Lagway hadn't gotten hurt, and we've handled business against everyone else. With the toughest schedule in the country, finishing the season with a third-string quarterback isn't going to help us, but there seems to be a glimmer of hope for the future—maybe that's why they decided to bring Billy back.

Most of Florida's NIL money is invested in our freshmen and sophomores, particularly quarterback DJ Lagway, who seems to be a package deal with Billy. And based on what we've seen from Lagway this year, we don't want to lose him or any other young recruits to the transfer portal.

So, Billy, congrats on buying yourself some time. But as far as I'm concerned, your seat is still hot.
