Florida Gators depth chart vs Florida State Seminoles
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators will host the No. 5 Florida State Seminoles this Saturday night at 7:00 pm in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Both Florida and Florida State lost their starting quarterbacks to injuries and will start backups on Saturday night.
Redshirt freshman Max Brown will earn his first career start for the Gators while Florida State turns to redshirt junior Tate Rodemaker
“I’ve got a long-standing history with Rodemaker. His dad is a long-time friend of my dad’s. And when I was growing up, heck, Coach Rodemaker was always around at different events and camps and things we would go to. So I think we even started the recruiting process a little bit with him at Louisiana. So he’s a coach’s son,” Billy Napier said on Monday.
“He’s very bright. This is his fourth year in the system. So he got there in ’20. So I mean he’s acquired reps throughout his time there. He’ll have a good grasp of what they do. A little bit different type of player but certainly he’s got his strengths. And they’ve got terrific skill around him. So there will be an element of experience. I think that’s the big thing. And he’s played — I think if you go back to the Louisville game last year he had to step in there and play, and certainly he’s played a lot; when the games have been in control they’ve put him in there. So there’s a pretty good sample size of him playing.”
The Seminoles come into the game 11-0 and looking to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. Florida, on the other hand, has lost four consecutive games and needs a win on Saturday night to gain bowl eligibility.
