Florida restaurant Serious Sanji brings dumplings and dim sum to Wauwatosa

There's something seriously delish about dumplings and dim sum, and a brand-new restaurant in Wauwatosa promises both.

Serious Sanji soft-opened on Tuesday at 853 N. Mayfair Road.

Wauwatosa is now home to the business's first location outside Florida, where there are already five restaurants, according to the Serious Sanji website.

A Serious Sanji dish "not only satisfies your memory of childhood taste, but it is also the best gift to global friends who love Chinese food," the website reads. "Food makes life better and the world more wonderful."

The Serious Sanji menu is stacked with dim sum, pan-fried or steamed dumplings, noodles and rice, xiao long bao soup dumplings and more.

Customers can choose from ten different iced green tea options and almost double the flavors of milk tea including mocha, jasmine, sakura rose or lychee milk tea, before adding boba toppings.

Once seated, visitors get their food from a robot server playing tunes as it rolls between tables and drops off dishes.

Every hot new food spot has that one item that goes semi-viral. For Serious Sanji Wauwatosa, the mini bun cup stacked on top of the boba tea of your choice seems to have already charmed local food influencers.

A Serious Sanji manager was not available for an interview before publication.

Serious Sanji's Wauwatosa restaurant is open at 11 a.m. daily, closing at 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9:30 p.m. otherwise, according to Yelp.
