Foliage Update: September 30th, 2024

The foliage has really hit it's stride the past few days, reaching prime peak conditions in many locations above 1800 ft! Still some color to changes in the lower elevations, especially the Champlain Valley, which has probably another two weeks before reaching peak color.

Route 108 is the place to see the skittles, with the Worchester Range showing stunning reds, oranges, yellows and of course the remaining green pine trees! The top of Smugglers Notch still has a few days left before hitting peak, but likely in time for next weekend!

The Northeast Kingdom is looking colorful, especially up into Brighton and along Rt. 105. Although I haven't seen any photos from Lake Willoughby, I'm sure the color is looking incredible!

As far as the muted colors we were concerned with last week, it looks like there are still patches that aren't as bright as others, but it looks like we've managed to bring some of the vibrancy back into the leaves with the cooler temperatures and some rain last week!

Enjoy the colors while you can, we will be past peak in a blink!
