Food Bank plans distributions

Food Bank of Northern Indiana has announced it will continue mobile food distributions in Jluy.

Assorted food items are offered free of charge on a first-come-first-served basis while supplies last for those in need of assistance. One box/bag per household is allowed.

These are drive-thru distributions. Participants are asked to remain in their vehicle and open their trunk to receive items. An area in the lot will be available to load items if the trunk does not open.

Here are the distribution times and locations (all times are local):

St. Joseph County: 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, the former Bargain Lane, 1302 Elwood Ave., South Bend; this distribution is sponsored by Lippert and will serve 200 households

Elkhart County, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, East Goshen Mennonite Church, 2019 E. Lincoln Ave., Goshen; this distribution is provided by Lippert and will serve 200 households

Marshall County: Friday, July 12, 10 a.m. to noon, Bourbon Helping Hands, Faith First Fellowship Church, 204 N. Washington St., Bourbon; this distribution is sponsored by CVS and will serve 200 households

LaPorte County: 10 a.m. to noon Monday, July 15, HOPE Center, 3901 N. 675 West, Michigan City; this distribution is sponsored by the City of Michigan City and will serve 300 households

Elkhart County: 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, July 18, McCoy Memorial Baptist Church, 134 St. Clair Ave., Elkhart; this distribution is sponsored by CVS and will serve 200 households

LaPorte County: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 24, the former J.C. Penney, at Marquette Mall, 201 W. US 20, Michigan City; this distribution is sponsored by Citizens Concerned for the Homeless and will serve 350 households

Starke County: 10 a.m. to noon Friday, July 26, Heartland Church, 6020 S. 300 E, Knox; this distribution is provided by Heartland Church and USDA and will serve 200 households

Kosciusko County: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 31, the former Helping Hands Food Pantry, 10072 W. 600 S., Mentone; this distribution is provided by USDA and will serve 150 households
