Foodlink’s Curbside Market now accepting WIC benefits
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Foodlink's Curbside Market now accepts WIC benefits at all locations.
WIC benefits (Women, Infants, and Children) provide resources and support for low-income families with children up to five years old.
Over 95% of the products available at the over 60 Curbside Market locations are WIC-eligible to help families find affordable options. This is the only mobile market in New York to accept WIC benefits.
Whitley Hasty, the benefit navigation specialist for Foodlink, explains the importance of Foodlink accepting these benefits.
"It alleviates the barriers of identifying eligible products, you don't have to, you know, worry about whether something is the right brand or the right size, the right number of ounces, and so I think it's just exciting because it helps people just a little bit more when it comes to accessing food," Hasty said.
