These heartfelt words from Flau'jae Johnson reflect the deeper purpose behind her recent purchase of a sprawling 20-acre property in her home state of Georgia. The LSU junior has consistently shown she's more than just an athlete or artist. Her influence goes beyond her career, driven by humility and dedication to her community. The 21-year-old sat down with Billboard for an insightful interview, where she opened up about her plans for the future. When asked about her rapidly growing NIL presence and her decision to purchase a sprawling 20-acre property, Johnson shared the deeper motivation behind the move. "That's more for my business portfolio. But something I've been working on for so long is building a resource center in my city of Savannah, Georgia. It's going to be a sports and music resource center and also with tutoring just for financial literacy," she told Billboard. With a current NIL valuation of $1.2 million, Johnson has demonstrated a remarkable balance between managing her personal growth and giving back. Beyond her contributions, Johnson has made impactful donations in the past and is an active member of the SEC Community Service team. She explained her plans further and said , "And I'm trying to get all of my brand partners and people involved and create a curriculum for kids so they can go somewhere after school and just have a place to be safe." In August, Flau'jae Johnson shared a milestone moment with her followers—at just 21 years old, she had purchased her first piece of land in her hometown of Savannah, Georgia. Proudly calling it "Generational Wealth" in a post, she made it clear that this property represented far more than an investment. She revealed that her goal is to create lasting opportunities for her community, ensuring that her legacy extends far beyond her basketball and music career. This kind of generosity is exactly what we've come to expect from LSU's standout guard. From the very start of her career, Flau'jae Johnson has never hesitated to give back. Flau'jae Johnson: A legacy of community service and giving back Since Johnson is part of the SEC Community Service Team, she enjoys using her platform to give back to the community and logged over 145 community service hours during the 2023-24 academic year. She has dedicated much of her time to community service, particularly through the Empower 225 Dream Center in Baton Rouge. Last year, LSU partnered with the Dream Center for a Christmas Clubhouse event, where Johnson not only drove donations but also personally contributed toys for underprivileged youth in North Baton Rouge. Additionally, she has actively supported the Miracle League in Baton Rouge, which provides individuals with special needs the opportunity to compete in a baseball league. She has also channeled her NIL earnings into meaningful contributions. Over the summer, she donated $10,000 to the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club in her hometown of Savannah, where she spent much of her childhood.
