Former Broncos Pro Bowler changes tune after bashing Russell Wilson: ‘I was wrong’

C.Brown28 min ago
For the better part of two and a half years, former Broncos Pro Bowl offensive lineman Mark Schlereth has criticized Russell Wilson . Even when he came to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Schlereth saw Wilson falling on his face, potentially leading them to their first losing season.

However, after two games of seeing Wilson against the New York Jets and New York Giants, Schlereth admitted that he had everything wrong with Wilson.

"I'm gonna go ahead and just do this with my chest. The last two years in Denver were atrocious. There's no question about that. And you know what? That's what I based my opinion on the last two years," Schlereth said. "It's a pretty good sample size. He has come into Pittsburgh. They have put him in a great system. They have thrown the ball outside the numbers...I got to tell you right now, I was wrong."

Schlereth had taken hard shots at Wilson in the past, stating that Wilson was 'delusional,' but Wilson has bought into the Steelers' system and how they are using him under Arthur Smith. Wilson has thrived under his guidance as they have continued to lean into an almost Seahawks-lite offense.

There is no guarantee that this will continue against contenders, but Wilson has shown much promise for the Steelers. If he can continue to play well, Pittsburgh has a chance to make some noise in the postseason.
