NORMAN, Okla. ( KFOR ) — A former Norman North High School teacher has been charged with distributing child pornography and possession.

An arrest affidavit from the Edmond Police Department detailed that they received word in a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

The tip came from MediaLab/KIK that centered around their messenger system noticing an account uploading 18 videos of suspected child pornography.

The videos involved girls as young as six, and are described as highly disturbing and involve several adults.

The recordings were sent on several different dates throughout July and August.

On August 18, a judge approved a search warrant for the home to which the IP address was allegedly linked. That home was in Edmond and the person who was living there was William "Billy" Schuster.

Then on August 27, police conducted the search warrant and made contact with Billy Schuster who admitted to owning that KIK account.

Documents detail that Schuster told police, "I'm not a predator, I just was bored and went down a rabbit trail on the internet."

He was arrested and posted his $350,000 bail within 24 hours and was released.

After looking into Schuster's past, it was found that he was a teacher at Norman North High School as soon as November 2023. Norman Public Schools told News 4 that "William Schuster resigned from Norman Public Schools in November 2023."

Schuster had also been the Assistant Head Coach for a time at Norman North and worked for a decade at Bishop Mcguiness Catholic High School.

It's not known why Schuster resigned last year, NPS said they cannot discuss personnel matters.

Before that, he worked at Bishop Mcguiness Catholic High School, coaching there from 2007 to 2017 according to the Norman North Quarterback Club website.

News 4 spoke with several neighbors of Schuster's who said a crime like this is unusual where they live.

"It's so disturbing, this is a very quiet neighborhood. Well, I'm glad they got him," said one neighbor.

Schuster did not comment on the case when he came to the door.

He faces six charges of distributing child pornography and one charge for possession of child pornography.
