Former student arrested after threats toward Mona Shores High School

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) β€” A former student has been arrested after a threat was made against Mona Shores High School, police say.

The Norton Shores Police Department said that around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, it was told that there was a potential school threat toward Mona Shores High School. Investigators learned that the threat was made by a former student who currently attends Grand Haven High School.

Detectives have interviewed the student and they are being held at the Muskegon County Juvenile Detention Center, the police department said.

Mona Shores and Grand Haven school officials have been notified.

Investigators worked with school administrators throughout the night to ensure the safety of students and staff. The police department said that no immediate risk was identified at either school and all schools remained open on Friday.
