Fountain ambulance involved in traffic crash

A Fountain Fire Department ambulance was involved in a crash Thursday morning that resulted in minor injuries, according to a news release from the city.

The wreck happened near Garden of the Gods Road and Interstate 25. A spokesperson with the department said that the crash was cleared and roads reopened as of 10 a.m. No other vehicles were involved.

The ambulance was transporting a patient to the hospital at the time of the crash, according to a release. Law enforcement is currently investigating the cause of the wreck.

"While incidents like these are rare, the safety of our personnel and the community we serve is our top priority," said Devin Graham, chief of the Fountain Fire Department, in the release.
