Four-star 2026 QB Helaman Casuga commits to Texas A&M

Provo (Utah) Corner Canyon On300 quarterback Helaman Casuga announced his commitment to head coach Mike Elko and Texas A&M on Thursday.

The four-star junior chose the Aggies over an offer list that also included Washington and USC.

The On3 Industry tabs the 6-foot-1, 200-pound Casuga as the country's No. 14 signal-caller and No. 144 prospect overall.

"I believe that they're building something special down there," Casuga told On3. "Obviously I want to be part of the Elko era. He's done so many great things at Duke and now he's showing he's capable of doing it at a SEC school.

"That's very impressive."

Has a sophomore he completed nearly 65 percent of his passes for 4,145 yards and 34 touchdowns. In six games as a junior he's again hit on 65 percent of his throws for 1,617 yards and 18 touchdowns to just two interceptions.

Commit No. 3 for the Aggies in the 2026 class , Casuga joins cornerback Ryan Gilbert and safety Markel Ford . Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Collin Klein was the lead recruiter.

"Coach Klein has been in my shoes," Casuga said. He won the Johnny Unitas Award and was the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2012. "He was a great quarterback when he played. I think he gets it and understands what a college quarterback is doing and going through. I feel I can relate to him.

"They're a great coaching staff and they feel like family."

The atmosphere in College Station put the Aggies over the top

Casuga visited for the Notre Dame game and wants to play in that environment at Kyle Field. He gave a silent commitment that weekend and now goes public with his plans.

"The 12th man is crazy," Casuga said. "They love Aggie football and they're dedicated.

"It's a culture down in Texas. I feel that's special to be part of something like that."

Other schools to offer Casuga included Arizona, Auburn, BYU, Nebraska and Utah.

"It's more than just football," Casuga said. "I'm looking for a family that makes it feel like home and somewhere that my family loves! Also where I can grow my education! And of course excel my football skills."
