With a record fourth consecutive NRL title in the books, Nathan Cleary has achieved everything there is to achieve in the NRL. So could he be tempted to leave in the pursuit of love with his flame Mary Fowler .

Cleary was exceptional in the 14-6 win over the Melbourne Storm, the team that beat Penrith back in their first grand final of a five-year run back in 2020.

It now makes him a four-time champion, a Dally M Medal winner, a Clive Churchill Medal winner, a State of Origin champion, a World Cup winner with the Australian Kangaroos.

There is no room left in the cabinet for Cleary. So could he consider a shock more to the English Super League?

'I actually lost for words. Five years ago - four or five years ago I was standing there crying and losing to these guys who have been the best for such a long time. [Now] we have just won four in a row. It is honestly mind blowing,' he said after Sunday's grand final win.

'This feeling here t is all worth it. It is hard to reach the top, very hard to say there but this moment it is all worth it. It is honestly the best feeling in the world.'

Mary and Nathan began dating towards the end of 2023, with their relationship being first revealed by Daily Mail Australia .

Since then they have become the premier sporting power couple in Australia with their social media posts attracting thousands of reactions from football and rugby league fans.

This paved the way for a rumour that Cleary could be headed to the English Super League for the 2025 season, to be closer to his partner who plays for Manchester City .

Speculation has swirled that the champion halfback could be allowed a one-year window to play in the UK before returning to the Panthers in 2026.

It was a suggestion the Panthers quickly shut down in September. Panthers chief executive Brian Fletcher and Cleary's agent George Mimis both said it had never been discussed, let alone formalised.

That didn't stop tongues wagging when Cleary was spotted shaking hands with the Panthers boss after a match in September in what looked like a congratulatory gesture.

That fuelled rumours that Cleary and Fowler were set to take their relationship to the next level.

Panthers winger Brian To'o couldn't help but stitch up his skipper recently, joking that Cleary and Fowler were engaged .

'Nathan? Yeah, he's over here with Mary,' To'o quipped.

'They are just chilling on the side everyone is going crazy. They are pretty much here for Nathan and Mary so congrats to them, I think they got engaged.

'Congrats to them.'

Teammate Mitch Kenny also recently had a laugh at the rumours, saying: 'Yeah, three years, Warrington.'

'I caught onto it late. I didn't know it was going around so I've sort of missed the boat.'

Cleary has not totally confirmed or denied the rumours, but recently opened up about his relationship with Fowler .

'I've loved it, it's all I ever could have dreamed of in having a partner, to be honest,' he said.

'It's just added new perspective but it's also added an extra layer there that when things are going good you want to share with them and want to talk about it and when things aren't going good, they're there too.

'Super supportive and I've absolutely loved it. It's just a great addition to life to be honest and made me really happy.

'Love wins.'

Cleary has previously stated that playing in the Super League later in his career was a definite possibility.

'Yes, I'm not against it. I have a pretty open mind to that kind of stuff. I think just being able to experience different cultures and different experiences is something I enjoy doing. I'm not closed off to that idea,' he said.

Any decision might come sooner than expected, with Cleary likely to be ruled out of the Australian side set to contest the Pacific Championships.

Cleary is scheduled to lead the Australian Kangaroos into the Pacific Championships which kick off on October 18.

He was named as halfback by coach Mal Meninga for the international tournament that also includes Tonga, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the Cook Islands and New Zealand.

Cleary missed last year's Pacific Championships due to a knee injury he suffered in the epic grand final comeback win against the Brisbane Broncos and looks likely to miss this year's tournament as well to undergo shoulder surgery.

'It'd be highly likely he'll have surgery, I'd say. But again, we'll just get through what we need to do and weigh up the risks and options,' Panthers coach and father Ivan Cleary said.
