Frank A. Schoonover, of Centermoreland, Pa., died Wednesday, April 4 at his residence.

He was born on May 4, 1947, son of the late Stacey and Francis Sayre Schoonover.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War.

He was employed by PennDOT for 22 years until his retirement.

He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer.

He is survived by his sons, Frank and wife Ruthann, of Centermoreland; Brian and wife Tamara, of Centermoreland, and Michael, of Minersville; brother Ted and wife Barb, of The Colony, Texas; sisters, Martha Zimbardi and husband Tony, of North Wales, Pa.; Shelia Dickenson, of Scranton; his longtime companion, Geraldine Dzanis of Miners Mills; and grandchildren, Lucas, Sarah, Chelsea, Jarrett and Jessica.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9, at 1 p.m. from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 West Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Pastor Drew Cottle of the Centermoreland United Methodist Church.

Interment will be held in Perrins Marsh Cemetery.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
