G.Perez49 min ago
The gardening for biodiversity and climate action workshop takes place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, October 19. The course is suitable for groups and individuals looking to enhance their area for biodiversity, learn how to plant for climate action, and improve or create engaging outdoor spaces.

Aoife is a sustainability consultant in Ireland who is passionate about making a positive impact on the environment. She has been working in the industry for 17 years, and has seen first-hand the impact that sustainable practices can have on our planet.

She has collaborated with councils on moving communities towards chemical free status, and worked alongside community groups to implement more green spaces for wildlife and to be enjoyed by the community.

The course content will include low maintenance planting that is also great for biodiversity and climate change, and how to create habitats for wildlife. Participants will learn about planting combinations for the seasons and how to grow your own from fruit trees to vegetables.

You will also learn how to deal with rainwater locally using nature based solutions. You will also learn about creating a more circular economy, waste reduction, composing and much more.

The workshop is free to attend but you must first register at Eventbrite.ie.
