Fremont runs through Omaha Burke for third win

Fremont got back in the win column Friday night, trouncing Omaha Burke 43-7.

The Tigers ground game was on display racking up 332 yards while averaging 9.5 yards per carry while compiling 419 yards of total offense

Senior running back Brooks Eyler spearheaded the effort, going for 145 yards on 11 carries including a 46-yard burst and a touchdown.

Quarterback Ayden Bohaboj churned out 82 yards rushing on 11 carries, also hitting pay dirt. He was also 8 of 12 through the air for 87 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

DaVarius Bell caught one of those touchdowns as the team's leading receiver with four catches for 39 yards. Bell also rushed for a score, finishing with 63 yards Easton Cyza had the other score, ending with two catches for 42 yards and long of 35.

Will Schleicher accounted for another touchdown.

Fremont led 17-6 at halftime and put the game away with a 19-point fourth quarter.

The Tigers defense, which held the Bulldogs to just 33 rushing yards while allowing 260 passing yards, was led Max Cooper's dozen stops and Gunner Knoell, who finished with 11 total tackles including one tackle for a loss.

Fremont's three wins are the most in a season since 2021.

The Tigers reward to starting district play next week is a trip to No. 2 Omaha Westside Friday night.

The Warriors have rolled through the first five weeks, notably beating Columbus 48-3.

Westside is coming off a 48-14 win over Omaha Central.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
