From Wimbledon's Royal Box to sell-out Taylor Swift concert, what is on Sir Keir Starmer £107,000 gift card

Most people have been forced to cut back on fun over the past few years as they have struggled first through the pandemic and then the cost-of-living crisis.

Sir Keir Starmer , however, has been lucky enough to enjoy prime seats at an astonishing succession of top social, sporting and cultural events, ranging from Wimbledon's Royal Box and top football clashes to Taylor Swift and Adele concerts.

Even more fortunate for the Prime Minister, he did not have to pay a penny for these jollies, which along with other gifts and benefits total £107,000 since December 2019.

Because Sir Keir, whose net worth is thought to be £3million and who currently earns £166,786 a year, had his high living bankrolled by generous benefactors.

According to an analysis of gifts, benefits, and hospitality in Parliament's register of MPs' interests, he managed to burn through freebies worth two and a half times more than those received by the second-most fortunate MP over that period.

This is all before the latest revelations that he now has use of a corporate box to watch his beloved Arsenal play at home, which usually costs more than £8,000 per game.

Sir Keir defended the latest freebie, arguing that as PM he can no longer go into the stands with regular fans for 'security reasons'. But the itemised list of gifts shows that even before entering Downing Street – when he proudly spoke of being a paying Arsenal season ticket holder – he was taking free tickets from a variety of donors to watch matches.

And not just any tickets. The Premier League provided him with five tickets and hospitality worth £3,000 to watch Arsenal's European clash in March against Porto, and box tickets with lunch worth £2,160 for an Arsenal-Watford match in 2021.

The PM has also enjoyed away games at Manchester United and Crystal Palace from the directors' box and accepted two tickets worth £1,628 to see England at the Euros final in 2021.

Sir Keir is said to have moaned about having to play rugby rather than football at his private school in Surrey, but he was happy to accept four tickets, with lunch and drinks, worth £1,800 to watch Saracens rugby club play Bath in February 2022.

Perhaps encouraged by his horse race loving wife Lady Starmer, Sir Keir also enjoyed a £3,716 private box for four people at Epsom Downs in June last year, courtesy of the Jockey Club.

The boxes have a balcony with spectacular views of the course and a specially assigned hostess to serve drinks and food, including fire-roasted capsicum peppers and Loch Duart salmon.

In August 2022, the father of two accepted accommodation for four people worth £4,500 on the picturesque Gower Peninsula in South Wales as a gift from Crownhawk Properties, a company founded by Welsh entrepreneur Rod Lloyd.

Sir Keir told how he holidays in Wales every year and described his visit to the Gower near Oxwich as 'really beautiful'.

He has also accepted a loan of a house in Swansea worth £3,000 for three nights for four people thanks to Morgans Hotel.

He also had four tickets to a Taylor Swift concert in June worth £4,000 courtesy of the Premier League, and four tickets with hospitality for a July 2022 Adele concert at Hyde Park for £479, thanks to Royal Parks.

Twice he has taken four tickets with hospitality for the Jingle Bell Ball at the O2.

His cultural outings have included four free tickets plus dinner to see Michael Sheen as Aneurin Bevan in his play Nye about the architect of the NHS. The £358 trip was paid for by the National Theatre.
