FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says they are investigating after a minor was hurt in a shooting on Fort Wayne's south side Thursday night.

FWPD Public Information Officer Jeremy Webb says the shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. near Oliver Street and Rudisill Boulevard.

Webb says someone called dispatch and said their son was shot/grazed by a bullet and was being taken to a hospital.

When officers arrived at the scene, Webb says they located evidence of the shooting in the 4000 block of Oliver Street.

Detectives then spoke with the victim at the hospital, who was identified as a 17-year-old boy. They say he was last said to be in life-threatening condition.

There are no suspects in custody at this time, Webb says. He says there is no threat to the public.
