GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - Garfield Heights residents will be voting on whether or not to allow traffic cameras solely on I-480.

Issue 19 will appear on the Nov. 5 ballot.

If passed, the cameras will be used to enforce traffic violations on I-480. But according to the city, those cameras would not be in use outside of I-480.

According to a city of Garfield Heights Facebook post, a total of 18,356 vehicles were observed traveling more than 75 MPH in just six days on I-480.

At least half of the money collected from traffic camera violations, would be used towards these costs:

  • Police, fire and other safety services
  • Street and other infrastructure improvements
  • Parks, recreation and senior programming
