Gary Ray Brownson

ANCHORAGE, AK - Gary Ray Brownson, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 17, 2024, in Anchorage, AK. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and man of faith, Gary's life was a testament to his love for Jesus. Gary's family is joyous that he is now in heaven and able to experience peace, after a many years' battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Born in Baker, MT on December 30, 1948, to Mark and Inez Brownson, Gary found joy in working with his hands. Whether on the family farm at a young age or later building a successful construction and remodeling business,

Gary's passion for craftsmanship was evident. He generously shared his knowledge, strong work ethic, and unwavering faith with his sons, Todd and Craig, and many others who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Gary married the love of his life, Linda, in Bozeman, MT on June 28, 1975. Together, they built an incredible partnership that spanned nearly 50 years. They cherished their time together, from hosting Bible studies at their home, game nights with their sons, and their intensely competitive racquetball matches three nights a week.

After Linda's stroke in 2017, Gary's unwavering devotion shone brightly. He became her primary caretaker, working tirelessly and lovingly to support her recovery.

Gary is survived by his two brothers in Montana, Roger Brownson and Wayne Browson. Gary loved spending time with his brothers, particularly at either Clydehurst Christian Ranch or at Roger's cattle ranch.

Though the final years of Gary's life were filled with health challenges for both himself and for Linda, Gary always found light and joy being Grandpa Gary from Montana for his five grandchildren of: Todd and Elisha Brownson, Clark, Clay, Colt, Lily, and Rose.

A small memorial service celebrating Gary's life is currently being planned for the first week of August in Anchorage, AK. Details will be provided to family members and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clydehurst Christian Ranch or Gideon's International in Gary's name.
