A girl, 16, walked into BP gas station, at 233 Walt Whitman Road, around 10 p.m. Monday when she engaged in conversation with Harjindar Singh, 61, of Greenlawn, a gas station attendant, police said.

Singh forcibly touched the girl twice, police said. The girl left the gas station and reported the incident to the Suffolk County Police Department on Tuesday, police said.

Singh was arrested Wednesday following an investigation, police said.

Singh was charged with two counts of forcible touching and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Singh was held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.

"Detectives are asking anyone with information on this case or who maybe a victim of Singh, to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252," the department stated.
