The Guam Economic Development Authority on Tuesday announced an extension of the application period for its grant program that offers up to $25,000 per award toward eligible community-focused projects and programs.

This opportunity now remains open until 5 p.m. on Jan. 31, 2025.

GEDA will be accepting grant applications via email at .

GEDA's Qualifying Certificates Community Contribution Grant Program Series 7 provides a significant opportunity for non-profit organizations and government of Guam departments or agencies to secure vital funding for eligible projects and programs.

Since 2019, this program has awarded over $1.861 million across 106 grants, making a substantial impact on Guam's development.

The money comes from the mandatory annual community contributions, paid by businesses that were issued tax-break qualifying certificates through GEDA.

Examples of most recent recipients included scholarship support for the Women in Aviation International Guam Chapter, Manhoben Swim Club, Diabetes Foundation of Guam Inc., American Red Cross Guam Chapter, University of Guam and Guam Community College's nursing programs, and the Manenggon Memorial Foundation.

"These grants are a great example of how government agencies and nonprofit partners are working together to enhance the quality of life on Guam," Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero said in a statement on Tuesday.

Lt. Gov. Josh Tenorio said the program has so far supported over 100 community projects and countless individuals.

"We encourage non-profit organizations making strides in health care, public safety, cultural preservation, higher education, or economic development to visit GEDA's website at investguam.com to learn more," he said.
