Genevieve Hakim, Claymont Avenue in Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday morning at
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born March 19, 1908, in Butler, she was a
daughter of the late Charles and Anna Hakim. She attended Wilkes-Barre
schools. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 132 in
Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of St. Mary’s Antiochian Orthodox Church in
Wilkes-Barre. She was preceded in death by brothers, Albert and Louise; and
sisters Helen Gualandi and Mary Spataford. Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Sarah
Belling, Ocean, N.J.; and Isabelle Hakim, Wilkes-Barre; and nieces and
nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the Mamary-Durkin
Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with services at 11:30 a.m. in
St. Mary’s Antiochian Orthodox Church. Interment will be in the parish
cemetery in Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday. Memorial contributions may be donated to St. Mary’s Antiochian
Church in Wilkes-Barre.
