Georgia Seid Lawler was born on April 8, 1947 in Sacramento, California to Jack and Evelyn Seid. She and her devoted husband of 21 years, John Lawler, were long-time residents of Mount Washington. Georgia's passion for life touched all who knew her as did her warm and loving nature. She was an adventuress at heart who loved travel, backpacking, card games, cooking, golf and ballroom dancing. Georgia loved spending time with family and friends, was a wonderful hostess, and had a huge heart. She will be forever loved and missed.Georgia was an astute business woman earning a B.A. in Government from California State University in Sacramento, a Certificate of Management from Smith College, and attended a Masters' program on International Relations in Florence, in Italy.While Georgia did not depend on beauty but rather hard work to excel at all she did, she was undeniably lovely and was crowned Miss Chinatown Sacramento and runner-up in Miss Chinatown USA, San Francisco. When in Florence, Italy, Georgia worked as a successful fashion model to pay for the Master's Program. She appeared in Italian Vogue and many other fashion magazines as well as for the House of Gucci. Georgia spent over 24 years working at ABC Television as Director of Broadcast Standards & Practices at ABC, a position she held for over 14 years. She subsequently worked at her successful real estate career for over 27 years.Georgia passed away peacefully from cancer on June 17, 2024 at her home with John by her side. She is survived by her loving family members including John, her cousins, Theo, Alex, Gary, and Derry, nephew Gregory and stepsister, Pauline and husband Henry Lee, Pauline's daughter, Alisha and husband Jeff.Georgia's Memorial Service will be held on July 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Cabot and Sons, 27 Chestnut Street, Pasadena, CA. Her interment will be on July 3, 2024 at 11:15 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd Riverside, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in honor of Georgia to the Cancer Support Community, 331 W Sierra Madre Blvd, Sierra Madre, CA
