Georgia Freshman Report: Freshman action limited like overall participation report

E.Wright3 months ago

It was Georgia’s smallest participation chart in general this season , and the freshmen certainly are a reflection of that. Only eight first-year Bulldogs saw the field on Saturday in UGA’s 31-23 win over in-state rival Georgia Tech. DawgsHQ takes a look below at the participation and impact of those that did get between the lines for the Bulldogs on Saturday night.

# 5 LB Raylen Wilson – As has been the case the last couple of weeks, Wilson has been one of Georgia’s primary linebackers in the absence of Jamon Dumas-Johnson. On Saturday, he had two tackles with a third negated due to a Georgia Tech holding penalty on the play. His third down solo stop of Dontae Smith in the fourth quarter brought on a 4th and 1 which was converted.

# 7 TE Lawson Luckie – Luckie did not record any stats in his action but was on the field more often with Brock Bowers out.

# 8 DB Joenel Aguero – Aguero played on special teams for Georgia. He did not record any stats.

# 26 LB Sam M’Pemba – Like Aguero, M’Pemba the field on special teams but did not record any stats.

# 33 LB CJ Allen – Allen finished tied for the team-high in tackles Saturday night, the second time he’s done so in his three games starting. He had eight tackles including three solo stops to be among the team stat leaders alongside Smael Mondon.

# 35 LB Damon Wilson – Wilson played a few plays on defense but did not record any stats.

# 44 DL Jordan Hall – Hall played just a couple of snaps on defense and went down with an injury at one point. He did however return, still recording no stats.

# 91 K Peyton Woodring – Woodring made his 20th field goal of the season and 16th consecutive with a 39-yard kick in the third quarter. Woodring was also a perfect 4-for-4 on PATs, now 59-of-59 on the season.
