Geraldine Doris Nichols, affectionately known as Geri, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, at the age of 96 in San Jose, California. Born on February 8, 1928, in Endicott, New York, Geri lived a full and vibrant life marked by her unwavering support and love for her family and friends.

Geri graduated from Owego Free Academy High School in Owego, New York. She dedicated much of her life to her family as a loving stay-at-home mom and also worked at a local flower shop, bringing joy and beauty to many through her floral arrangements. Additionally, Geri regularly attended church, where she found great comfort and formed friendships.

Married to the late Richard T. Nichols for over 60 years, Geri was a cornerstone of her family, known for her supportive, loving, caring, funny, and generous nature. She is survived by her sons, Dennis and Douglas Nichols; daughter, Linda Nichols; and grandsons, Zachary and Samuel Nichols. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Genevieve Hardy.

Geri's hobbies were a reflection of her loving spirit and zest for life. She kept a spotless home, enjoyed cooking, and loved working in the yard. She relished playing cards and board games especially Aggravation, traveling and going on cruises with her husband and friends, and watching her grandsons play sports. Family gatherings, especially during the holidays, were particularly dear to her, as were writing cards to family and friends (which were truly appreciated by all), entertaining guests, and dancing–the polka being her favorite.

A private ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Geraldine can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, honoring her spirit of generosity and community involvement. Geri's legacy of love, laughter, and caring will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
