'Ghost tracks' site linked to multiple accidents, residents demand action

SAN ANTONIO - While the 'ghost tracks' are a fun attraction, especially around Halloween time this location has proven to be dangerous for drivers.

Several accidents have happened at this curve on Villamain Road.

Just this week three people were hurt after they were hit by a driver who missed the sharp turn. But people living in this area say this isn't a first.

Olga Martinez is the president of the Villa Coronado neighborhood association and has lived in this part of town her whole life. She wants to see extra measures in place to prevent the number of accidents at the intersection. And other residents worry about the safety of drivers coming through to see the 'ghost tracks' for themselves.

Hernandez says she's reached out to city officials to find a solution but hasn't heard back.

We reached out to District Three City Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran's Office, along with the San Antonio Police Department to learn about any plans to put a barrier in place.

Both referred us to the public works office who say no such plans exist right now.
