Gordon M. Presley

DANVERS — Gordon M. Presley, 60, was taken gently home Thursday, September 19, 2024, from his residence in Danvers.
He was born on April 27, 1964, in Peoria, IL, to Harold G. and Viola Waldschmidt Presley. He married Karen Brown on March 30, 1985, in Roanoke, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his two sons, Gordon Presley Jr. of East Peoria and Harold Presley of Carlock. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A 1982 graduate of Metamora High School, Gordon earned an associate's degree in business management from ICC. He held many different jobs over the years, his real niche being in sales. His last position was with Sam Leman in Bloomington as driver coordinator which he did until November of 2023.
Always willing to give of himself, Gordon was very active in community organizations during his younger years. He was a past member of the Metamora Jaycees where he also served on their board. He was active with Metamora Cub Scouts Pack 64, serving as cub master, assistant cub master and board member over the years. He was a member of the Peoria Downtown Kiwanis Club where one of his favorite activities was helping with the Special Olympics.
He was a member of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. on Monday prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Gordon was always proud to support and sponsor his sons when they participated in "Gimme Shelter – A Night to End Homelessness" to raise funds for Phoenix CDS. Gordon also supported his wife in her volunteer work at the Pregnancy Resource Center in Bloomington as her prayer partner.
