The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) will work alongside the Clark County Combined Health District to open a mobile health clinic in Springfield next week.

According to DeWine, the state and local health departments will work together to transition this mobile clinic to a permanent location to serve patients throughout the Springfield community. The location and opening date of a permanent clinic have yet to be determined.

DeWine says the goal is to reduce wait times and improve access to primary healthcare services. Among these services are health assessments, vaccinations, lab testing, and maternal and infant health and wellness.

An influx of Haitian migrants over the past several years in Springfield has put significant stress on its healthcare system. DeWine has pledged $2.5 million in funding to support the expansion of infrastructure including healthcare services.
