SAGINAW, MI — Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is set to make his fifth trip to the battleground state of Michigan since joining the Democratic presidential ticket with presidential hopeful, Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Harris/Walz campaign announced Thursday night that Walz would be attending a church service at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, at Victorious Believers Ministries in Saginaw.

Walz is expected to arrive in Michigan the night before, with plans to land at MBS International Airport in Freeland on Saturday night.

The visit comes one week after Walz appeared in Warren, where he blasted former Republican President Donald Trump for negative comments the Republican nominee made about Detroit last week while speaking at the Detroit Economic Club.

"Maybe if he ever spent any time in the Midwest, he'd know Detroit is experiencing a great American comeback. Crime is down. The city is growing. Factories are opening again," Walz said. "But all these guys know about manufacturing is how to manufacture bullshit."

The Harris/Walz campaign did not announce Thursday night if Walz would be speaking while attending the church service in Saginaw. After his stop in Mid-Michigan, Walz will depart for Massachusetts, before making stops in Connecticut and New York for campaign events over the duration of Sunday and Monday.

Walz is not the only member of his ticket who will be in Michigan this week.

Harris, who made an appearance at an audio town hall Monday in Detroit, has planned stops on Friday, Oct. 18 in Lansing, Grand Rapids and Oakland County . Details on those stops will be available Friday morning.

The Democratic presidential nominee will also appear in Detroit on Saturday, Oct. 19, at an event to promote early voting. She will then return to the city on Tuesday, Oct. 22, with former President Barack Obama .

As a critical swing state, the presidential candidates, their vice presidential running mates and a slew of supporters on both sides have been in Michigan frequently this election season.

On the Republican side, former President Donald Trump will return to Michigan to participate in a roundtable-style event at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Oakland County, his campaign announced earlier this week.

U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers will also appear at the roundtable event with Trump.

Also this weekend, billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will be making an appearance in Grand Rapids on Sunday to campaign for Harris.
