Grand Blanc voters reject parks millage proposal by slim margin

GRAND BLANC, MI - The city of Grand Blanc's parks millage proposal has narrowly failed, according to unofficial results from the county Clerk's Office. A total of 51.63% of voters (2,270 votes) cast ballots against the measure, while 48.37% (2,127 votes) were in support. The millage was intended to fund the operation and maintenance of parks in Grand Blanc.Related: Live: Genesee County election results for Nov. 5, 2024 The proposal called for an increase of 0.50 mills, meaning property owners would've paid an additional $0.50 for every $1,000 of taxable property value. The millage would've been in effect for 10 years, from 2025 to 2034. Collection of the tax would have began in the summer of 2025 and continued each summer until 2034.
