PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Green Line Apothecary is moving on from retail pharmacy, the owners announced Tuesday .

Christine and Ken Procaccianti, who first opened Green Line Apothecary back in 2016, explained that their Providence pharmacy's final day open will be Dec. 3, while their South Kingstown pharmacy's will be Dec. 4.

"Green Line Apothecary has entered into an agreement for its retail prescription files to be acquired," the Procacciantis explained.

The Procacciantis said patients' prescription files will be "seamlessly transitioned" to CVS the day after each pharmacy closes.

"If you are affected, you will be able to fill your prescriptions at any CVS location convenient to you," the Procacciantis said. "CVS will have all of your prescription information and they will be prepared to assist you with your future medication needs."

The Procacciantis plan on shifting away from retail pharmacy in favor of focusing on their family and other business ventures, including their ice creams , Green Line Supply , Town Made and Lineage .

Green Line Apothecary's Soda Fountain will remain open through Dec. 20 or while supplies last. The Procacciantis said Green Line products will still be available for purchase online, and their ice creams will continue to be sold by the pint at retailers and grocers across the state.
