MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – If you're in New York City, prepare for the gridlock starting Monday as the United Nations General Assembly kicks off.

The United Nations will host the leaders of 200 countries this week to discuss the world's most pressing issues. Most street closures will stretch from FDR Drive to 6th Avenue and from 34th Street to 60th Street on some avenues.

The street closures are on a rolling basis. To see the full list of street closures,.

The NYPD is implementing extra resources during the general assembly amid conflict in Gaza and two assassination attempts on former President Donald Trump. The additions include bomb units, K-9 units, officers stationed high and low with long guns and drone technology.

The joint operations command center will be fully staffed. The NYPD said there is no credible threat to the city at this time.

The average motor vehicle speed in Midtown during the general assembly is at its slowest all year, dropping to less than four miles per hour, city data showed.
