Gr2IT Hosts First Wellness And Education Conference In Bolingbrook

The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 24 and 25, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 26, at the Bolingbrook Community Center, 201 Canterbury Lane.

According to the organization, the conference will feature invited talks, papers and workshops addressing a wide range of topics related to education and wellness across the lifespan and in multiple contexts. The is open to educators, psychologists, counselors, health services providers, wellness providers/coaches, community partners and organizations, students and members of the public.

Presentations will include: Well-being Centered Leadership, The Role of Social & Emotional Well-Being in Preventing Chronic Diseases, Cascading Effects: The Importance of SEL in Schools, Cultural Competencies for Coaching First Responders, Higher Ed as a Wellness Approach for First Responders & Veterans, Your Mindset About Money, Breath Awareness & My Use in High Ed, Engagement! Levering Strengths & Storytelling to Foster Communication and Performance at Your School or Workplace, Trauma-Informed Approach to Sexual Assault Investigations, From Rumination to Insight, Trajectories of Intimate Partner Violence.
