Gruelt L. Baker OBITUARY
Gruelt Lee Baker, 86 of Lakewood, Colorado, born in Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully at his home with his wife Margaret at his side and his children present, from pancreatic cancer.
Born to George and Helen Baker of Denver. He was a 4th generation Colorado native.
Gruelt led a very full life and enjoyed many hobbies such as Bowling, Wood working ATVing, fishing, horses, show dogs, and was the founding President of the Rocky Mountain Akita Club. Gruelt was also a member of the Elks Club of Lakewood.
He had a long and successful career in Construction and was a master cabinet maker by trade. Later having his own construction business with several of his grandsons. He managed many crews in his career on numerous high-rises in downtown Denver.
He is survived by his wife Margaret, his son Gruelt J. Baker of Mukilteo, Washington, his daughters Patrice R. Skolnekovich of Palm Coast, Florida and Susan A. Halbrook of Aurora, Colorado. He was a grandfather to six children and 7 great grandchildren, brothers James Baker, Jon Baker and sister Kathy Ulrich. He is loved and remembered by many family and friends.
