CLEVELAND, Ohio — Guardians right-hander Carlos Carrasco allowed a pair of runs in three innings for Double-A Akron as the RubberDucks fell to Hatford, 3-0, on Friday at Canal Park in Akron.

Pitching on a rehab assignment as he recovers from a hip strain, Carrasco started and surrendered three hits, striking out three batters while throwing 41 pitches. According to the Guardians, Carrasco's velocity topped out at 93 mph on his fastball during the outing.

Carrasco, 37, has been sidelined since Aug. 8. It marks his second stint on the injured list this season. He missed 13 games in late May with acute back spasms before returning June 1.
